Smile Safari, AR Experience

AR Experience · UX Design · Interactive Space

Together with Amber Aspeslagh and Erin Troch, we developed a series of augmented reality (AR) scenes. Each scene combined playful 3D elements with changing backdrops, creating a unique and dynamic experience for every visitor. The AR content adapted seamlessly to its environment, turning ordinary spaces into shareable, immersive moments.

Smile Safari is known for its colorful, photo-worthy installations that encourage visitors to interact and share their experiences online. For our bachelor thesis, the goal was to extend this concept into the digital space, adding an experimental AR layer that enhances the museum’s playful atmosphere.

By blending physical spaces with AR storytelling, we created an experience that was both immersive and shareable. This project taught us how to translate a brand’s identity into interactive digital concepts, while keeping usability and visitor engagement at the core.
